I have a macbook pro. Intel based and four years old. Within Mac OS I run Parallels 6 with Windows XP Professional. Within that I run an accounts package on which I heavily rely. I do have a backup solution but the other day got BSOD on boot. Nothing worked. No recovery console. Nothing. Lots of googling. All advice said forget it corrupt drive etc etc.
Then I stumbled across Hiren Boot CD and within 10 mins has the mini xp on it running and was able to run chkdsk and voila am fully up and running.
